83nd VENICE INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL
The catalogue presents the films of the 83nd Venice International Film Festival.
For each film, the entry includes, in addition to the technical specs, a synopsis, the director’s statement and biography, both in Italian and in English. There are also a portrait of the director and a selection of stills, in black and white or colour, from the film.
The structure of the catalogue reflects the division of the Festival in sections: Venezia 83 Competition, Open – Out of Competition, Orizzonti, Venice Spotlight, Venice Classics and Biennale College Cinema.
Introductions by the President of La Biennale di Venezia Pietrangelo Buttafuoco and the Artistic Director Alberto Barbera open the book. Also included are the jury’s motivations and critical essays on the recipients of the Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement, the Cartier Glory to the Filmmaker Award, and the Campari Passion for Film Award.
