DOCUMENTS, LETTERS, INTERVIEWS AND MEMORIES FROM THE HISTORIC ARCHIVE OF LA BIENNALE
Manuscript letters from artists, telegrams, loan cards, newspaper articles and photographs: AMARCORD. Fragments of memory from the Historic Archive of la Biennale is an itinerary that describes some episodes of life, organisation and participation of artists and curators at the International Art Exhibition in the period between 1895 and 1999. The catalogue, realised on the occasion of the homonymous exhibition inaugurated in 2013 at Ca’ Giustinian, brings to light fragments of the history of La Biennale di Venezia thanks to the curator Massimiliano Gioni, who, like a true collector, carefully selected the most significant historical materials, with the aim of preventing the archive from remaining a safe, but on the contrary with the purpose of transforming it in a familiar place, open to visitors and enthusiasts.
